AHHHHH! Yes, it appears the 2014's are coming with clear lenses, as I did a search for the few that are for sale on dealer lots across the nation right now, and sure enough, they're clear.

Blah. Why do I care? I don't know. Probably because the entire automotive world seems to be bending toward useless car-based blobs with unisex, generic styling with heavy Asian and European styling influence and design cues. Car-racist? Nope, but the blocky America, utilitarian SUV is on a slippery slope towards looking like EVERYTHING else on the road.

 

Ive never paid attention to my ambera but after seeing the clears now I do think the old fashion looks better. To each his own tho, its still a jeep inside and out

My guess is that the lenses are clear and the bulbs are amber. Which in turn would emit the same light as the amber housings.

I swapped to clear on mine with amber bulbs. I think it looks good.

 

Yea man they have the amber bulbs in them it's just a clear lens for the 2014

 

Weird that the fender lense is still amber and doesn't match the grill...

 

Oracal vinyl makes a smoke transparent film that smoke the amber/ clear or red taillights and still allows the light to be visible. That is what I did to mine and it looks great. IMO. I did tails turns and markers

I noticed that when I was at a jeep festival my club put on at a dealership. My guess is that by law they have to have them be amber reflective on the fenders in the front and red reflective in the rear on the sides of the taillight.

 

i changed my font and side markers to clear lenses. I put led switch backs in the markers. much brighter than oem bulbs

 

ok, so who can get us the part # of the new OEM 2014 clear lenses?
