New speakers -2008 JKU Premium Sound
Ok, so I've searched for this bit of information on the forums and various other places.
Veh: 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon edition
Sound system: OEM Premium - Missing subwoofer of course
I acquired this Jeep from a used car dealership recently (about 3 months ago), at that time the subwoofer was missing. As well as the cones separating from the speaker frames. I did get speaker glue and reglue those, no big deal. But they're not the best (in fact one is probably blown or cracked).
My question, given that most OEM speakers are usually lower powered or require less power than aftermarket speakers. (at least from what I've heard over the years).
Could I just swap out the speakers in my Jeep and they'll be fine? Or should I just wait and do a full audio system upgrade?
I know if I do the audio system, that I need to either keep things going through the OEM amp via harnesses, or spend the better part of the day running new wires to speaker locations. Personally I don't need an amp, don't even really care to have a subwoofer to tell you the truth. But I've read that if I bypass, the system will throw error codes, which I could live with since it is already throwing one for the missing sub.

Check out Trail Seven. The are DS Kicker speakers. I picked up there kit for less than I could order CS Kicker speakers online.
They also have a few subs that will work if you choose to replace your missing one.

Im sure trail seven is a good company but those prices are insane. Their speakers are the same as what I posted above.
I bought the kicker speakers from Amazon and they’ve been great for a stock(ish) upgrade.
This is what we installed years ago, still rockin.. https://www.amazon.com/Mopar-Wrangle...ps%2C82&sr=8-2
