Our builds seem pretty similar. I'm going with the avh-p4100 and the pdx5 under the dash. The front components are infinity perfect 6.1s and the sub is a polk MM840 in the stock enclosure. I started making a box for a nice ten incher I like, but funds started getting a little short, so I decided to go this route and see if its good enough. Phish generally sounds good with an 8 inch sub, so we'll see. The roll bar has some infinity reference coaxials that I put in to spruce up the stock sound a few years back, and they will stay for a while at least.

I like the location of your sub. Nice, innovative idea.

The sub and amp (pdx 5) are on their way, but I thought I would show you what I have so far.

The stock deck was replaced with the avh p3100, the front speakers are jl vr components and the rears are kenwood coax's.

I wanted a box that I could hear, and since I wasn't going to go big the trunk area was a no go. I also did not want to lose any function on the rear seats folding.

I am going to put the amp under the seat, so then I cam up with under the dash.

I looked around for threads or pictures and couldn't find any. I guess I will be the lab rat on this one.

The guy who built my box is David, he is a freelance installer and fabricator and did great job. His company is called Audio Install for less.

Let me know your thoughts and I will update this as the pieces arrive.

Sean

Does the box block the floor vents on the passenger side?

Where under the dash? I am not set on a specific location for the amp, but want to have the ability to adjust the levels easily on the amp. Is there a secret compartment?

I was contemplating putting it in the center console with some cutting.

Has anyone put an amp in the center console? Did you have to cut a ton?

the box under the dash does block the floor heater, but I am in so cal, so I rarely use the heater or ac, and I always put it on windshield defrost because the heater burns my toes(sandals).

What are the dimensions of your box? I like how it fits in a way that is not obvious to thieves. Boxes in the rear are just waiting to be stolen when the top is down and the doors are off.
