Default No Way to Turn Fog Light On - Help

I purchased my third Jeep this past October, a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. It has stock fog lights built into bumper. When I go to turn them on, as I have done with my previous two jeeps, the end of the light stalk does not pull out and there is no fog light icon as I know there should be. I checked the lights and they are wired and traced them into that stalk. Is there something that I am missing or has anyone else had this issue? It seems to me like the wrong light stalk was used when the Jeep was built. However, being the second owner, surely they noticed this, right?

Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like someone added the bumper and lights to a Jeep that didn't originally have them. I did this for a buddy that got a kit to do so from Q-tech. Their kit came with a new turn-signal stick. Almost all Jeeps have the harness to tap into... but he had to take the Jeep to a dealer to activate the fog lights in the PCM after we had it all wired up.

This is exactly what I thought, but the bumper is stock and original based on the way it was originally sold from dealership in 2008. I would also hate to think that somebody spent the money to add a new bumper with lights, and never got the lights to work. It sounds like to me, regardless, I need to add a new turn signal stick with the pull out. And then maybe to the dealer to have lights activated?

If you traced wires from the fog lights to the stalk, it's definitely an aftermarket wiring job.
The factory fogs are wired to the TIPM. From there to the stalk it's all LIN Bus through the cluster to the steering control module.

I spoke out of turn, I thought I traced them all the way but did not. They don't go into the stalk. At a loss

Maybe the previous owner had an spod or something similar he took out before he sold the Jeep.

I just went through Mopar Owners Connect to get the original equipment on the jeep when first sold - and fog lamps are listed. Any thoughts?

Take a couple pictures of the light control and I will compare it to the control on mine.

I will, and I will post them asap. I do know though, there is no fog light icon where I know it should be on the end that pulls out. Leads me to believe the wrong stalk is on there.
