Default Odd lighting idea

I was thinking that I would like to mount a spotlight on the outside of the windshield, where the Mopar light mount would go.

The thing is, I want to put a light there that is aim-able.

Similar in design to the cop spotlights that you have to drill through the A-Pillar, I want a handle that will "steer" the light without having to cut a hole. I want the handle on the outside so I can reach forward with the doors off (or reach through an open window) and aim the light.

Anyone know of a product like that?

I know there are remotely controlled lights you can get, but the few I have seen are pricey. I was looking for a lower-cost option.

I've thought about that myself... the route I was thinking was to just drill through the A-Pillar anyways.

I've yet to do it, but check with the dealer and see how much the windshield frame would be. If its not too expensive, I'd just put the PoPo style light in, and if you decide not to keep it, just replace the windshield frame.

Otherwise, I think the best route is to just get the remote controlled ones, or the regular lights that everyone else has that aren't aimable.

The go-light is a 12 volt light on a motorized base that you can swivel, and aim up and down. Also since it is electronic it would just be some wiring through the firewall but no drilling throught the pillar to get it to work.

I had never seen them under $200, but I found this one:

$119.00 !!!

That is freakin do-able there... I can fab a shelf mount that attaches to the windshield frame, run the wires through the firewall.... Hmmm......

That Golight search turned me on to a couple of ideas... thanks!

Here is one with a handle.
