Default Off Road Lights

I was wondering if anyone has wired their off road lights using the wiring harness from their stock fog lights. I have an aftermarket front bumper that was installed when I bought the Jeep used and I noticed the other day that the stock wiring harness was taped up under the winch. Wondering if you can use the stock wiring and if the switch will work with the stock fog light switch mounted on the steering column. Also, pictures would be awesome and extremely helpful. Thanks

Any aftermarket lights conected to the OEM foglight circuit have to be of the same wattage lamps or less than the original OEM lamps. Connecting larger wattage lamps to this system is dangerous and most likely will not work anyway. However, you can use the OEM foglight circuit to trigger an aftermarket relay. Then the relay can be used to activate your new lights.

I gotcha. And how would I go about doing that? I am by no means any kind of mechanic or electrician so I have no idea which components I would need.

Only issue, is that fogs can't come on (by default) when your highbeams are on.
I gotcha. Then Maybe I need a set of fogs and some off road lights : )

Yes... you need at least 10 lights.

Hey, that looks pretty good... Not that I'm biased to the color or lights... Lol!
...poser shot is all I have on my phone!
I wouldn't bother cutting into your factory wiring, get a switch pod from RR and it will look fine!

Ahh, I see. I think I'm gonna swap out my front bumper for a rugged ridge stubbie and grab a set of factory fogs and then I'll work on getting some additional off road lights.
