P0523, P0335, Car Won't Start After Battery Terminal Was Loose
One day, our jeep stopped working. It wouldn't start. It does fully turn over tho, full power cranking just no start. It died while driving. Let me explain the chain of events and hopefully, we can diagnose it:
The codes we have as of today are as follows:
P0523: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit High
P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit
P0305: Cylinder 5 Misfire (Which was the only code we had before previously).
The car still had a Cylinder 5 misfire, but it's been STARTABLE with this. It started just fine. The spark plug wet fouls out. (This is not the issue we need to figure out tho as we know why this is, in the next paragraph)
We changed the Timing Chain, replaced the EVAP Canister, PCV valve, inspected the camshafts, rockers, valves, valve guides, replaced the crank and camshaft sensors and the entire oil filter housing and oil pressure sensors with brand new OEM parts from the dealership. We also replaced the Fuel Injectors, OEM (you'll understand why I say OEM further down).
Still had Cylinder 5 misfire.
We took it to get a compression test done on the cylinder and found low compression (shoulda done this in the first place, I know), so we know now we need to fix/replace the passenger side head or possibly valves on the passenger side (not covered under warranty).
After we received the car back, we were home, everything was running on the way home, we stopped in at Costco, and then it just died.
After some inspection, we observed that the GROUND terminal on the BATTERY was loose to the point that you could remove it. We suspect this happened during the time that the cylinder head compression test was being performed, tho can't say for sure. I also suspect the battery came loose while driving and this is what killed the car.
My "suspected" issue of what happened that killed the car is the PCM or TIPM, tho I have not tested either of these, as I'm looking to figure out HOW to test them first off.
The car had no trouble starting prior to us observing the loose battery terminal, and now it won't start so something is broken. I really don't think it's the sensors on the codes because all of those were replaced recently.
I want to sell the vehicle and get out of it as We have already bought two other vehicles and this 2012 JK is just a paperweight in my driveway.
Needs a new Passenger Side head and figure out why it's not starting so that we can sell it since obviously someone wouldn't buy a non started 2012 Jeep JK lol.
What would you recommend looking at and testing out and going from there before I throw more money into it (considering we just replaced the oil pressure sensor and crankshaft sensor with OEM parts and still nothing)?
