Default Path for Wires from winch?

I got my Smittybuilt XRC-8 and promptly installed it. Being an old CJ owner I ran the winch wires through the grill... Having looked at a lot of the pics onlne I am seeing that they are getting router another way. your opinion? I will be doing the grill cover mod this weekend so input would greatly be appreciated.

I ran mine under the grill, zip tie to the frame, then followed up behind the grill. The reason for this, if I ever need to remove my grill to replace a turn signal, etc I wanted to be able to just pull it off. I did also wrap my wires in black wire lomb to help hide them.

I ran the wires of my WARN through the grill as well... for a simple reason, they wouldn't reach the battery if I had run them under the grill then back up - and still keep the wires need and running along the side panel of the hood - vs. over top of other engine components.

Ideally, I would like to have them running under the grill, maybe I'll look to squeeze a few inches out of my current path to the battery.

Just finished mine. The cables run under the grill and up along the upper curbside edge of the engine bay. They dropped in and fit so well that very few tye-wraps were needed.

Mine runs under the grill, follows the wiring for the lights along the frame and then up to the battery. Of course my winch sits lower in my bumper, so that was the shortest route.

I pulled my grill off and ran everything along the side. Easier to get to everything that way

Thanks for the good advice... I ran the cable under the grill and around the airbox then directly to the battery.
I used 1 inch electric plastic tubing.

I had to rewire my lights too but it was just a disconnect and reconnect they follow the same path.
