I personally think that is one heck of a great install!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im definitely NOT AN APPLE person... but something like that for my car-puter screen would just plain rock...

the only thing that would make this install better would be to lower it, relocate the vents to above the screen and use some slim-line rectangular vents... that would take a couple inches off of the total dash height...

like stated the rock hard is high enough so how i mounted the ipad you arent loosing anything vision wise but maybe a half inch. That is unless you sit way back in your jeep I dont I sit rather high so its not a problem. I am not putting down the smaller form factor of a new Ipad either I think it would be cool.

I have the apple case for my ipad, stuck velcro on the back and onto the dash top piece, ipad hangs down in front of radio and works flawlessly.. I run pandora and have the sound coming through the radio.

For those of you using iPads in your JK, does it actually push enough sound? can you use an iPad for your head unit and add amps, subs, etc?

Im using mine integrated into the factory Infinity system but will be ditching all the infinity stuff in about a month since I need more bump and also replacing all my speakers, since one of my Infinities blew out already, didn't blow it because the Ipad.
