Default Price quote. Any audio gurus???

So been working on my jeep for awhile now. Replaced all 6 stock speakers with polks. I installed them myself, and didn't add an amp or sub. Everything sounded great until the tweeters started popping on every low note. Ive just unplugged the tweeters, but now dont have much high end. So here we go

1). Does anyone know how I could fix my tweeters? Do I need an amp?
2). I want to add a single 12" sub. What should I plan on spending? Just want an idea of the price. I know it could be from like100$-5,000$ but I just want a good idea. Say a single 12 inch sub, amp, amp kit, lcas, labor etc... Everything I'll need. I wanna do it right once. Is it even possible for under 1000?

Oh and I have the mygig head unit. Thanks guys I appreciate it. Sorry I know the questions are vague.

You need an amp to adequately power after market speakers.

So do you think the tweeters are popping because they're blown or simply because I need an amp?

More than likely, they're just underpowered.

So if I was to power a 12 inch sub and the 6 speakers. What kind of amp would I need?

What speakers did you replace everything with?

Pretty popular (and cheap) around here are polk db6501 components and db651 coaxials. The components have crossovers which would limit the frequency to the tweeters.

Also, you could replace all the speakers, get an amp(s) and a sub for under $600 if you shop around.

Using one amp, you would need a 5 channel amp. Try to get an amp in which the RMS power matches the speakers

I replaced the stock with dxi650s in the sound bar and dxi6500s for the dash/tweeters.

i would def get a amp for your speakers and look into a filter for your tweets to filter out the lower frequencies!

The dxi6500's are components and have a crossover. No separate filter necessary
