Default Problem with compass heading & temp readout...

Ll of a sudden today in the middle of some fairly aggressive trail riding my jeep decided to no longer display the compass and temp

Now it shows the avg mpg and then >reset

Anybody ever come across this before?

I tried turning the power off and of course hitting the trip meter reset but no change

Did you have your cell phone on top of the radio? The compass module is up there. If not, make sure the plug didn't fall out!

Yup. My compass also goes berserk when I put the cellphone over there. Problem persisted even after I installed the Vector's e-dock so now I just drop the cellphone in the cup holder.

Did not have a problem with the temperature, tough.

No cell phone up there...funny thing is I normally always keep my cell up there but for offload I stowed it in the center console...I did a lot of rattling and bouncing on the trails, do you think I shoot the antenna loose?

I hate ask but what's involved in getting to the antenna connector?

Just pull up on the panel above the radio by the windshield. Then you need to push forward - there are only two clips that hold it to the dash.

Ok thank you

Doesn't sound too bad, I thought you were gonna tell me I had to disassemble the whole dash to find the other end of the wire

It's pouring out right now, but I'll give it a try first chance I get

Ok it finally stopped pouring out, we got like 4 or 5 inches of rain

My Jeep was covered in my so I left it out of the garage and it's almost clean

So the piece I have to pop out is it the one above radio that includes the little storage tray?

If you have a 2010 or newer yes, there may be other steps involved with that - I have an 07 which I should've mentioned.

Trying to be sure I don't snap off anything while removing the convenience tray

It wound up just being a stupid matter of using the menu buttons on the left side of my stealing wheel!
