A) good luck with getting a mygig. I wouldn't hold my breath.

get the MyGig; it does so much more
2) So much more? You mean play DVDs. I don't see how that qualifies as so much more.

C) There is no spoon.

Eclipse sells the AVN2210p which is an in-dash receiver but includes a removable Tom Tom GPS. Personally I'm not too crazy about Tom Tom, but at least the precedent is set for aftermarket in-dash receivers with removable GPS.

Now if we could only get Garmin to update the Trail Guide and partner with someone like Pioneer...

You wouldnt happen to have the Part numbers for the cradle and harness do you?
Ive been poking around online and I asked the parts dept at my dealership and came the conclusion they didnt come separate.

Edit: I dug around with more intent and found the part number

Jeep Part Number 5191114-AA

My 2cents worth: first consider what level of off roading you're most likely to do in your Jeep. My opinion is if you're looking at 4 to 5 rated trails, then avoid the factory $1500 MyGig option and buy the Garmin GPS. I really don't think MyGig is "Trail Rated" and I think in the next few years we're going to hear a lot of complaints about MyGig not surviving a weekend excursion.

I personally am adding a Garmin GPS to my rig; right next to my 80gig iPod (that holds every song and movie that I and the family could ever want). And I have $1000 left over.

I agree...if your MyGig and suspension get in a fight, I think your suspension is going to win. MyGig no likey bouncy bouncy, unlike Happy - He likes bouncy bouncy.

Yeah, not sure what it would do in the "sky, ground, sky ground..."scenario.
