Default Quick, need help, key fob not working

My girlfriend just call and said her key remote is not unlocking her jk doors which means it won't turn off the alarm either. I don't have the power package for my jk so I don't know the intricacies of her stock alarm system. If she unlocks manually, the alarm will go off, yes? But if the buttons on the remote aren't working (she tried changing the battery) can she still turn of the alarm siren just by putting the key in the ignition? If not, is there a way around it without an extra key?

Sounds like the chip came unprogrammed you should still be able to unlock with the key in the door and it will also disarm your factory alarm. Go to the dealership and tell them to reprogram the chip sensor they should do this for free.
