Radio brightness auto change for day and night?

Radio brightness auto change for day and night?
I have a 2011 rubicon with the 730n radio. The display brightness will not auto change for day and night. Is there a setting I am missing? I have set both day and night brightness and selected auto.

Is it stuck on max brightness?
If so, check the steering wheel stalk that controls your lights. If you have your instrument lights set at the max level, it overrides the day/night function on the radios. Try backing it off a notch.

This should fix it. I have a 12 and was pissed off it would not switch to night mode. If you turn your stalk all the way to wehre the cabin lights are on, you should have to turn it back two clicks.
