Default Radio issues

Purchased a stock uconnev Radio about a year ago from a guy. Well I had to disconnect my battery and now none of the radio buttons are responding. Carmax did some research and said the unit can from a 2010 wrangler and since the anti theft system has been activated it has to be plugged back into a 2010 jeep to reboot itself. Anyone know anything about this?

My 2011 JK has a 730N RER from a 2010 and I haven't had that problem when I disconnect the battery or pull the M12 radio fuse. When I installed the 730N; I had to push a couple buttons in combination to activate it. The 430N however needs to be accessed with a dealership console to activate. Is this radio a factory 430N?
The radio is probably looking for the VIN from the 2010 JK along with a code.

I thought that you only needed the lock code to activate it. I put a 730n from a 2012 into my 2015 wrangler jk
