Up until a week or so ago, the radio would go off whenever I turned off the key. Recently, it started staying on until I opened the door. It's an '07 with e factory radio. My Magnum and SRT-4 stay on, but they have EVIC which allows you to set it for how long you want it to stay on. I don't think my Rubi has it. IF it does, I can't see how to set it. Like I said; it never did it before.

 

odd, mine's always stayed on until the doors opened... or for a couple min when I had the doors off.

only time it would turn off, is if I had the door open when I turned engine off... but I don't do that too often.

 

Mine stays on for about a minute (doors off) or until I open the door (doors on) OR until I hit the lock button on the remote.

 

same here mine stays on until i open the door. it's always good cause i always forget to roll up the window so i don't ever have to put the key back in unless i open the door before i take out the key.

my yukon was like that too.

 

Yes, it should stay on until the door is opened and it should have all along. I would be willing to bet it was doing it before but you just opened the door so quickly you didn't notice it...

If not, you had some sort of issue that obviously has resolved itself. Did you get your ECM flashed lately for something?

 

No, it would go off as soon as I switched the key off. The reason I noticed was because my Magnum would stay on and I noticed the different behavior. It was at the dealers a few weeks ago for an oil change and tire rotation, but I don't know if they flashed it or not. I assume they would have told me if they had done one.

 

I have a '09 X purchased in Dec 2008 that the radio used to stay on until I opened the door. One day, about 2 weeks ago, the radio would go off whenever I turned off the key. I can't figure out how to get it back to the original mode.

 

Mine stays on, but it only randomly "remembers" where I was on my CD. Most of the time it will start back at Track 1, but sometimes it will pick up where I left off

Any idea how to fix that?

Also, the satellite radio sounds like garbage, but fm, cd or aux all sound good :(

 

I would also like to know if you can change any settings for this, I would like it to stay on for 5 or 10 minutes not the standard 30 sec (give or take).

I looked in the manual and it says that the radio will stay on for 10 minutes or until the door is opened.

mine used to turn off when I opened the door but now it only does when I open any door other then the drivers door lol
