Rear power windows?
I had to move my full doors today and with the monsoon like rain, figured i would leave them on. When i plugged in the harness the locks worked but not the rear door windows. Fronts are fine, window and locks work. Only thing I can come up with is, i have a Tuffy full console and did NOT put the rear window switches in the new console. Any help appreciated. I will pm Tuffy as well.
...my guess is...considering what you mentioned with tuffy console, I'm assuming you messed with the original rear window switches mounted on the back of the original console ? If so...then yes, you may need to find the harness they were originally wired to and figure the wires out as they are integrated with the front main switches(under radio) meaning that somewhere there is a power or ground connect that is no longer connected....
Do you still have the original switches?

granted I installed the aftermarket Electric life kit....the front control switches as well as the individual rear switches are linked....something unhooked with one will mess up all....now I imagine that's pretty standard wiring with all...though, I could be wrong

POOP!
I threw everything into the box when removed the factory console and that got tossed.
Anyone have any ideas? I really dont want the rear switches but WOULD like to have the rear windows operated from dash switches....

Yeah bud your screwed... I pulled my console out to put a cb in and forgot to reconnect the rear windows and they wouldnt work...
I think if you get some wire and splice into the connecters and jump them it will work, its going to be more of a poke and hope thing unless you can find a wiring diagram that tells you what color daes what.
im not sure about the fuses, but buy a few to be sure, you might blow a few before its all said and done - hope it helps

dito...as justajeep mentioned, your not screwed, just get some extra fuses and find the mess of wires that originally went to switches, it's gonna take a little know-how and a lot of patience and trial and error, but you should be able to figure out what wire does what and what needs to be spliced to what to work.....if you can even google a diagram for ANY window switch it would help...give me some time I'll see what I can come up with.
Ok...so far not having much luck finding a clear diagram to walk you through it...I can't guarantee these steps below will work but it's a starting point to help figure out your wires...the only problem is, if your original switches acted as relays this may not work
- You'll need a simple circuit testing light
- try to identify the bundle of wires that went to each rear window control, or if you still have them attached to their respective harness then too easy
- there should be 5 wires that went to each switch...can't help you with colors but either way...you'll figure it out
-working on one side at a time try pressing either up or down on the switch up front and with circuit testing light identify which wire is lighting up when your pressing button (ignition needs to be on for this) -now either label appropriate wire or remember which wire lights up when pressing up and down
-then take either up or down power wire you just identified and with other unidentified wires in loom through trial and error connect identified wire to the others....hopefully you'll see your window either go up or down....when you've got it figured out splice wires together appropriately and bob's your uncle
however you may hit another power wire and cause a short blowing your fuse, just be careful...

Thanks for the info. Thats what I was afraid of, having to trial and error on the wiring. It was a real bitch getting the console in and adjusted.
may just take the doors back off until the next hurricane hits!!
