Rear red fog lights/flashers
I'm assuming all OEM JK's have a LED 3rd brake light. My '07 JK is LED so it's unlikely later years would have gone backwards to a regular bulb.
The installation can't be any simpler which starts with removing the spare tire for access. It's just a cut & splice into the existing leads going to the light. The module is small enough that I tucked it inside the 3rd brake light upright support. You remove the two screws on the forward side of the light and two more about 10" down, then the light and aft cover come off the upright support. You'll need to trim out one of the plastic stiffeners to fit the module in. Before you tuck it in for good, have someone hit the brakes for you so you can adjust the flash rate and duration to your liking. When done, just close the support back up, put the spare tire back on and you're good to go.
The OEM 3rd brake light is bright without being blinding. This brake light modulator (flasher) just sends a wake-up call to the inattentive dim-whit behind you. However, it only works if they happen to be looking out between text messages.

Has anyone tried to reverse the taillight mounts so that they are under the taillight rather than on top?
Take the drivers side bracket and put it on the underside of the passenger side taillight.
I think that this would give them more protection.
