Recommendation - In Dash Nav System
I installed a Kenwood DNX9140. The Kenwoods are expensive, but well worth the extra $ imo. I have full voice control, BT, full ipod audio/video access, and garmin-based Nav. Having a Garmin based system was the biggest driver for me as I can find a lot of good quality maps for free (such as topo). I've uploaded 24K maps to the unit and they work great. The interface is clean and easy to use, and is one of the only road-based units that actually lets you display elevation on the map instead of ETA, etc.
Beware of the earlier models though... they have very limited support for the newer generations of ipods. I started out with the DNX710EX but dumped it due to major compatibility issues after the install.
Hacking the Kenwoods is the best part... all limitations are removed by grounding a single wire. No expensive addons or gyro-based safety systems (Pioneer) to deal with.

I have the infinity system also and with the DNX9140, it sounds much better than the factory head unit did. I was planning on upgrading the speakers and amp at a later date, but am content to leave it as is now. It was much more $$ than I initially planned to spend (I was looking at the mid-level Pioneer's) but I haven't regretted it one bit since it was actually installed.
There are several different harnesses available. Make sure that you use the higher end ones that allow integration with your existing infinity system so you can still use your amplified system. They run about $100-$125 for the harness. I think Metra's version is the CHTO-013 which is what I used.
The DNX9140 is expensive, but you can find it for about $500-$600 less if you go through a non-factory authorized retailer and sacrifice the Kenwood warranty. I had Car Toys order it as I wasn't wanting to take the chance installing it in an off-road vehicle and getting stuck without any repair options.

My vote goes to the Eclipse AVN 726e
i replaced a Mygig since i wanted to put a complete aftermarket sound system in and its much better than the Mygig in my opinion.......i used an adapter from PAC or Peripheral to hook up to the keeps wiring plug and play and it worked perfectly.....

If interested I am replacing the MYGIG RER in my Jeep and will be trying to sell shortly. It will come with the PAC- C2A-CHY2 harness if you want to add aftermarket amps, mic adapter for using UConnect, and the Navigation antenna. PM me if interested

I'll chime in for the JVC unit too. I love it and it really was pretty easy to put in the Jeep. My Jeep has been broken into 3 times now so the removable face was a requirement for me. Only downside to install is that it doesn't quite clear when the screen loads back in after loading a disc. Have to tweak it a bit.
