Recon led
I installed the smoked led signal/marker lights this weekend. Not extremely difficult, although frustrating as they are not very durable. I guess as an attempted solution for the corrosion complaints, they created a clear plastic housing that encases the wiring... sadly, one of my two cracked. Also on three of the four, I had tabs break off. I ended up using some elecrical tape in odd places, but they should be protected for at least a little while. I am keeping my factory lenses, because when the time comes (which $200. and a non-refunded return later, I wish I had done in the first place) I will use VHT "nightshade" on them and buy some led bulbs. I'm guessing that would have saved not only a shit load of money, but a lot of time and effort as well. Don't get me wrong, in all outward appearances they look kick-ass and I'm happy to have them taped up in there and working BUT I'm helping a couple friends fix up their new rides and VHT/LEDs are the route I will be taking them from the beginning... at least they can benefit from my mistake.

Is there another company that deals in after market led markers and signals?
On a side note I still haven't had a reply on getting new lights. In fact I've never even been contacted until today. I was interested to read the email.....turns out it was just spam from them. So they can't respond to my problems but they sure can advertise for me to buy more.

After I sent my lights back and was waiting on my return, I receieved an email from RECON. I was excited to finally have a reply from them, but quickly realized it was just a blanket email wanting to sell me more lights!
Wow, sure glad I didnt hear of Recon before I went my route. I order LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com. No they are not an entire turn signal housing like Recon, but it give your turn signals and side markers the distinct LED look. I replaced my side markers, front turn signals, brake lights, back up lights, fog lights with LED's. I put clear corners in the front though and didnt go the with the smoked look. I also put cool white LED bulbs in the front turn signals and side markers because I wanted all of it to match. My whole front end looks cool white (6000k). Customer service at superbrightleds is great also.
Recon won't last long with those shoddy products and crummy customer service.
Understand that unless Recon is making their products in-house, someone is making them to their specs, probably in China.
Both issues can be addressed by management that doesn't seem to have a handle on the problems or doesn't seem to care.
I feel that anyone would be better off just getting the LED bulbs from superbright or some other really good vendor and going that route.
Do whatever you whatever feel is right for you, I've had my say.

I did the Truck-Lite headlights too. I did have two failures on the dome lights, but their customer service had the replacements to me within a week. The failure in the dome light LEDs were flashing/strobing.
I do a walk around twice a week to check all the bulbs. The thing for me was the brightness, safety, to see and be seen. Also, the idea of having a very long service life appeals to the Jeep lover in me too.
I am very pleased with the brightness, the price and customer service from superbrightleds.com.
