Default remote start for Manual

Anybody know of a remote start kit specifically designed for a 6speed manual? Everthing I've read on the site seems to be dated or somebody rigging a kit designed for an automatic. I don't want to run into problems with the electrical or disabling any safety equipment by using the wrong kit...

Thanks

I know viper security systems will remote start a vehicle with a manual. Just have to set it every-time. Make sure it's out if gear also.

Iv wanted a remote start for my 6 speed but haven't found a good out of the box solution. As you said it seems most rig something up. The problem is of course safety due to a standard taking off when started while in gear and also the fact that our ebrakes suck and may not hold the jeep in place when in neutral if its on much of an incline. That being said there has to be technology out there that can consistently and accurately recognize, thru some sort of sensor, that a vehicle is in neutral. As an added safety measure someone could design a system that would only start if the transfer case and/or tyranny was in neutral. The problem then goes to the ebrake holding strong every single time, for which the only solution to this I see is to check it often and pull it hard everytime when exiting. Idk, seems like a lot of work and a lot of opportunity for something to go wrong just to save us from going out in the elements and starting it ourselves, which is how I assume most remote start manufacturers view it. However; I'm confident in my own judgement of a situation that if a out of the box system with all safety features included did exist at a reasonable price I would give it a shot. If parking on incline, in heavy traffic or pedestrian area, or there was no inclement weather in the forecast for that night or next day, I wouldn't use it. My main reason for wanting one is because of the half doors in winter. They are a pain when iced and snowed over because you can't really scrape them, you just have to wait for it to melt.

Compustar makes a kit for a manual .Had mine installed last year and works greatThe only problem is if you read the instruction manual, they say never to install the system on a vehicle that has a removable top or a convertibleThe shop I do business with went a head and installed it anyway. The way to arm it is very simple and foolproof

just an FYI.. in many states it is illegal to install a remote start system in a manual. I found this out when i bought mine and wanted to have one installed when i was having an alarm installed. the dealership i bought from is very mod friendly, but they refused to install it because of the liability involved.

My friend has one on his 2010. Tried to use it last night and now the jeep won't start at all. We have no idea why.

you would think with our new CAN systems that you could detect any movement of the transmission tail shaft and shut the system down. i'm interested in the one posted above. If there was a way to prevent the movement of the vehicle with the remote start running.

I was always told to Never use the E-brake or Hand brake during the winter as the pads can and do freeze to the drum. i know this has happend

I had a remote start on my Bronco that was manual. Worked perfectly and had no chance of starting in gear. Basically the setup process before you get out of the car required you to have the ebrake on, and exit the vehicle while it was running, then when you get out and close the door, the car automatically shuts off and the remote start is ready to go. I'll try and get the name of it but it worked perfectly every time.
