looks like too many factors involved to have it.. never thought about the soft top.. if someone were to "break in" and knock the stick into gear the system would still be armed and id have no idea it had been tampered with.

plus the fact ive driven stick for years and the habit of parking in first is drilled in my head so much that when I drive my automatic Chevy hotrod I keep stomping the left side of the floor when I go to shut it off or drive...

heated seats are a great idea.. as well with a stick I guess i can keep the revs up easily while stopped to get the heat flowing...

one thing is for sure... im not going to trade for an automatic just so i can have remote start.. I finally got a Jeep that works right and im gonna hang onto it!

Not that I recommend this, but I installed remote start on my 07 TJ manual by building a ring of springs around the gear shift (under the boot). You just need 4 springs (that will carry a 12v current) with a mounting post at each corner of the gear shift under the boot with a . The gear shift post had ground current in it and when it was in contact with the springs it sent ground to the remote starter disable feed. When gear shift left in neutral no ground to disable feed and when in gear the grounded feed would not allow report starter to function. Not sure a shop would install this for you, but it is not that complicated.

I have a remote star on my manual Jk. You have to put the hand brake and do a procedure before exiting the vehicule to enable de remote start. All my lights are working properly with their delay. automatic lock works also.

it's a 2 way and has also an alarm with proximity sensor for the "no top season"!

my 08 never had issues starting in -24 degree weather.. in fact when I chased a blizzard and an arctic front after an hour of driving I had my coat off.. shirt sleeve shirt on and turned the heater down off its most max setting..

the stick sure was hard to shift though when it was really cold! and the flat tire light was on for the first few minutes i drove

Fruit for thought, currently I live in Italy and every vehicle over here that is a stick, which is 9.5/10 will start without depressing the clutch, in gear or out.

its not about depressing the clutch.. its about the jeep being started remotely.. something not working right and it runs over someone or through a garage door etc...

although not that the 3.8 has enough torque to move the jeep on flat ground at idle......
