Default Replacement OEM Keyfob

So I bought a new, OEM Jeep Keyfob on ebay for my '08 and took it to the dealer to get cut and programmed (I currently only have one keyfob, so I have to go the dealership route). The problem was, the dealership said that they were able to cut but not program the key. I was able to argue and not the pay the programming fee for this key.

I'd really like to get a second keyfob for my Jeep, but don't want to pay the $150 the dealership here charges for the key and then another $40 to program it too. I feel a little burned after the ebay keyfob didn't work.

Does anyone's dealer sell the Jeep OEM keyfob for a REASONABLE price (i.e. not $140)? I think I'll end up paying that programming fee wherever I go. I have power locks on the doors, but no automatic start.

Thanks for your help.

If your dealer doesn't know how to pragram the key you don't want him to touch anything else on the Jeep. Run..run very fast to a different dealer.
Get a second aftermarket key cut at a regular locksmith (not the kid at the hardware or lumber yard) and I'm pretty sure that once you've got the second key up and running you can program the third yourself.
