Thumbs up REQ or REN Radio with UCONNECT WORKING!!

Just wanted to give everyone that maybe getting started with connecting their radio with uconnect a heads up, that took me some trial and error and long nights of research to find out. I know that this information is spelled out in or throughout many threads on here, but here you go.

It is possible to get the uconnect buttons on your stock radio to be fuctional for your wrangler. If you have a REQ radio as I did you will need a 82211878 (which is the independant Uconnect box with a mic). There has been some confusion in the past about part numbers the 82211004AB was replaced with the previous part number listed. So once you have the uconnect box you will need to install the box (instructions should come with the box or can be found online or many threads on here im sure) and take it to the dealer and have them star scan the jeep to have it communicate with the uconnect system. That takes about 30mins with instructions also easy to find in this forumn (bring to the dealer with you). AND THERE YOU HAVE IT..you now have uconnect in your wrangler. IF you are wanting the REN radio (which is the NON-NAV mygig) you can use the same external uconnect box (the REN does NOT have internal Uconnect like the RER) this combination seems to work with limitations. I could get it to connect to incomming and making calls, but my voice recognition buttons on the REN radio never worked properly. Since the REN is not listed as a standard option for the wrangler (only the RER, RES, or REQ are) the dealer cannot star scan it again to make it communicate, or at least the dealer i delt with seemed to think??

I hope this helps some people out there with making the decision to switch radios or use the uconnect.

If anyone is interested in buying a REQ 6disc, sirius, radio (already been star scanned) and the uconnect box listed above (also been star scanned) and worked properly just let me know and maybe we can work something out.
I also am considering parting ways with my REN sirius, non-nav, 30g radio so feel free so message me about that as well

Just a note, it's the vehicle that gets StarScanned, not the radio. If you take those parts and put them in another Jeep, it will have to be scanned for them to work.

I have a question, I have 2011 JKU and upgraded my stereo to the REN system non-navi, but my UCONNECT wont work. but it still shows its paired with my Bluetooth, and when I get calls the uconnect works, just not with my radio. how can I get it working? I heard something about a program u run? can I do it myself?
