Default RES radio issues

This morning everything was fine. When I went to leave work I had no sound on am or fm. No static hiss or nothing with volume on max. Satellite and auxiliary work fine. Any ideas? 2011 Rubicon.

Display shows a strong signal and info displays what song is playing but there is absolutely no sound, not even a hum or hiss when volume is at max.

Not sure if this will work but have heard this advice for other issues. Pull the battery power ether fuse or actual terminals to battery. I am guessing it would clear any dumbness you radio is suck in.

(Yes dumbness is a technical term, like thingy-NA-bob)

On a related issue my Res radio lost Sat channels and had to send refresh signal from Sirius. Thing happen to electronics.

Not weird. Alien space ship left town last night.
Seriously though , If you couldn't receive satellite as well as local signals then it must be internal to the radio if the power came on in the first place. Pretty sure radio reception functions are not can-bus or vehicle computer component regulated. Local and sirius are received from separate sources. The outside antennae for am/fm and the satellite antennae inside under the upper dash panel.
Any moisture getting to the head unit?

OH OH my bad....just read your sat reception was OK.....Sounds like moisture...or not

I've had no moisture issues. And this is not a reception problem. It acts like there is a fault between the radio output and amplifier input. Sat and I pod work fine, but zero output on fm or am. It comes and goes.

My RES did similarly a few years ago--except I had no audio output at all (but don't have Sirius). After a couple days on the trail it started working again. And has been working fine ever since. Go figure.
