Question RES Satellite Question

I've been browsing other threads about these stock head units. It sounds like, with the RES model, all I need to do is add the sat antenna and I can receive Sirius. The problem is that there's no "SAT" button on my head unit. What gives? What am I missing?

BTW, I have an 07 X, with RES head unit; no Uconnect, but that would be nice too

My 07 came "Sat Ready". Have you checked to make sure you don't already have the antenna?

Does yours look like this one? The SAT button is on the left side, next to the volume knob, just below AM/FM

Mine is the RES model, but there's no SAT button. Instead mine has the AM and FM buttons separate. Also, the AUX button is located next to the input jack, and the SET button is to the left of the presets.

I haven't taken the sound bar apart, but if it is supposed to be on top of it then I don't have it.

I have an 07 with this one and the sat antenna, but I don't get a serial number. Did some research awhile ago and read that some of these head units need a external receiver for sat is that true? I find it strange to have a head unit sat ready and antenna but needing a external receiver but believable had the same issue with a Mazda about 6 years ago

No the Sat ready units have the tuner built into the unit.

I think you have to look somewhere else to find that number.
