Is there a difference? Sorry for what may be a silly question.
Are you looking for street legal fog lights? Because Rigid did come out with a SAE Fog Light.

Boy howdy there's a difference! I just found this out tonight after replacing my factory fog lights with LED flood lights.
I knew I didn't want a spot light pattern and thought "flood" was kinda like "fog".....ha, only because they both start with an "F"!
The floods shine everywhere from the ground to the tops of trees. I cannot and will not use these as driving lights. And to be honest with ya, I'd be surprised if they'd be worth a flip as an actual fog light. I even bought them in yellow!
So upsetting because LED lights aren't cheap and installing them meant I had to remove my front bumper (it's aftermarket) - what a pain. I also had to alter the mounting brackets for the lights to sit in the fog light holes just right.
After going through all the work I did, I'm leaving them installed. I'm not sure I'll really even use them much since they don't add much on top of what my JW Speakers already do.
So....be very careful what lights you get and make double sure they are FOG lights. Even after you get them, before you do anything, plug them in and see what kind of pattern they throw. You'll be able to tell right then if they're an actual fog light or not.

Sorry about the frustration.

Now, not in order to be argumentative, just to add another angle of view to this:
When fog is thick enough to justify turning on the fog lights, it also blocks much of the light at the eyes' level of an on-coming driver, and scatters the rest of the light, so blinding isn't an issue.

The OP asked about additional fog lights, so they would be installed on - and not in - the bumper. As this allows more aiming range, he can simply aim them lower and blind no one even without fog.

I've used 10" x 12" GEL photo filters...cut them into the shape of my light...easy cheap way to change the color...and GELs come in just about any hue or tint you can imagine!

Yes--I plan on keeping my stock fogs in place as is. I'd like to add something in Amber on my bumper hoop or directly on bumper. The reason I asked about fog in particular is that' I remember in my old KCs they have a metal "shade" over the top half of the bulb giving the light a downward pattern. Thanks for the feedback eveyone.
