Default RR A-Pillar + Switch Install in a 2011

Seems I keep getting lucky and finding things that won't fit properly in a 2011. Wondering if anyone has modded and installed the RR A-Pillar switch pod successfully in a 2011.

The problem is mainly with the bottom of the pod. There is only one clip on the 2011 - which is at the top of the pod. The 2011 has some tabs that fit into the dash instead of the bottom clip.

Here are a couple of pictures that show the final fit. I will probably install and hope that there is a new one for the 2012 that will fit the 2011. I needs me some switches

So maybe I am lucky to have a mid-year change? Was yours smooth at the bottom like the RR shows, or was it jagged like my stock one shows? Wonder if I was sent the wrong pillar.

The RR A-Pillar doesn't fit well in my 2012 either. I don't care for the gap at the bottom and could live with it but, mine rubs the door when closed. The bottom sits out enough the door hits it. I put the single factory clip on the bottom of the RR A-Pillar hoping that would help but it didn't. I don't really want to cut my factory A-Pillar but that looks like the only option in my '12 Rubi. I like the idea of the Daystar mount above the rearview mirror that others have done so that may be another option. Hoping RR will make an updated version for 11+ JKs.

Same problem with my 2010, it bowes i'n on the window side, and hits the door when I close it!!! I emailed them and sent them several pics like they requested, then they forgot I sent them and lost them so I sent them again!!! Andy they said they would take care of it and I never heard from them again after about 4 emails sending them all the info, and a copy of invoice........ So I just chalked it up to one more product that didn't fit correct with nothing done about it!!

Any update on this product? Some sites are now listing it as "2007-2012". I assume it's the same product, just a change of the years in the marketing materials...

I painted it with some Rustoleum satin black and it matched up pretty well.

I went with an air gauge in the bottom and two switches - one for compressor and one for lights.

Showing gap at the bottom - used pipe insulation to fill it in a bit.

The flash makes it look like a bigger color difference than it looks in normal light.
