That's what I did. I'd rather have lights on all the time to be as visible to other drivers as possible. I set my parking lights as my DRL's w/ my AEV Procal. This lights up both turn indicators on my dash unless I turn my lights on. It's like a reminder to me, or if I choose to leave my lights off I still have the DRL's on.

Straying on this thread, but does a AEV Procal, Superchip and Hypertech all do the same thing?

I have had the AEV Procal and yes it does have Day Light Running option on it with many variables that you can set it to i.e. Fogs only, Fogs and Headlights, Indicators, Indicators and Headlights, and last but not least Fogs headlights and indicators. The Superchips Flashpaq I am not certain even though I have one, I just got it and I can't update it online at the moment as i am in the middle of moving but will post as soon as I can to let you know.

I read about the pro cal drl option. Does it work like automatic headlights: off and on with the key turned? I really like that idea.

It turns the lights on as soon as you take the parking brake off, or if the car is running if u don't use the brake

And you will not be able to use your headlights to trigger relays for any aftermarket mods.

Possibly, but I am gonna say that I didn't mind the insurance deduction due to having day light runners, plus I can't think of any mods I would want my lights to trigger that I couldn't put on a relayed switch anyways, but to each there own.
