Default Should I be worried?

I'm getting ready to install 5 100w halogens.
Is my battery/alt gonna be ok with the draw?

Every battery is different. Im running two 140w lights and a 10500lb winch on stock battery and so far its fine. Some ppl who dont have any aftermarket hooked up get a year outta stock and others use lots of lights and winch for years no problem. Its a crap shoot. I think youll be fine. Dont use the light that much anyways

Stock alternator looks to be 160 amps at... We'll call it 12v since thats what the lights are likely calculated with. Thats 1920 watts available to power the whole thing. Meaning, you want to use more than 25% of what is not likely designed to be surplus power. My jeep buddies out in hawaii went with mean green alternators when they went stupid with lights... And they didnt go that far. But those were trail rigs. Low rpms, winching etc. probably be ok, but working that alternator at full plast the whole time they're on. Short life span, if you actually were going to use them. I'd go kree light bar.

Is this a light bar thing? Cuz, no one really wires those. They're just for looks and hanging in trees.

Add a huge ass alternator in there anyway and toss an underhood welder on it. That would be balls to the wall.

Just to clarify, it is my understanding that '07-08 used a 160 amp, later years a 140. I have an '07 and run four 130 watt KCs and two 100 watt KCs. They work fine for the occasional night driving. But I also have dual Die Hard Platinum auto batteries.

You definitely need a deep cycle battery, but as others have said, it depends on the use. I have run my 4 PIAA 520's on night runs for prolonged periods with only an Optima yellow top, and never an issue. On a side note, some tuners will allow the idle rpm's to be turned up when you are in conditions where you are idling frequently, which is nice, and does help with charging of the battery.

Is nobody worried about the alternator. If youre digging battery with the engine on, youre arguably wrong. The battery is for starting, load balancing. The alternator is running your lights. The alternator will die much quicker if you draw more than it can support, hell all the electronics will suffer if you drop below 13.1v. Might even see random fuses popping at random times in an extreme case.
Ever hear someone tell you the battery took the alternator out or the other way round? Running more than your watts can support is akin to running a bad battery forcing the alternator to work too hard.

Sub optimal setup. If youre doing hard core stadium lighting, add or upgrade alternator. Or maybe get your eyes checked.
