MaloCS,

This new trek antenna, did you remove the H/U and connect the antenna there, or to the spot that the op did. I haven't removed my stock radio so I don't know if there is a "normal" antenna connection behind it.

awesome, thank you. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough wire to reach back into the roll bar. Plus now I get to take a look at the inside of my dash. thanks again

Bubblehead

Thanks a million for this picture.

After adding foil-lined, insulated, black headliners to my JK, I lost reception on my sat radio. I have a lifetime subscription for my portable that is transferrable so I was going to transfer it to my JK after the free year runs out. Anyway I have multiple antennas so I took one and mounted it on the hood, and rand the cable to the connector you show in the pic. Saved me a lot of time searching

When I was plugging in the new antenna it was a little snug but I pushed GENTLY and EVENLY on it and it went in with no problems. I ran the wire under the pads down the rollbars and through the grommet in the back under the tire jack (alread had sliced it for my trailer lights/brake wiring). After that I ran it under the car (avoiding the muffler/exhaust) to the rack mount next to the bumper and up the rack. The longest part was the routing and zip ties to the rack. The connection for the old antenna is the yellow connector in the picture located on the top of the b pillar on the passenger side. I took a trip through the deep woods yesterday and only lost reception once for about a second and bridges that I would loose reception under before didn't loose reception at all.

I put mine here. top center of windshield. Doesn't interfere with either top, and great reception.

I installed my Sportster 4 on the Daystar panel and made a bracket to hold the antenna at the base of the winshield inside the Jeep.

Ok guys, need some help here. Was using this thread as my guide to fix my Sirius reception problem after I installed my roof rack. Peeled the section back as shown in the pictures here and found the sirius antenna wire....but no area where it connects to the antenna so that I can unplug it and install my aftermarket antenna.

After that proved to be pointless, I pulled the radio out of the dash to see if I could connect directly to the back of the unit. No luck there. Differrent connectors.

Any ideas? My reception sucks and I'd like to get back online quickly. Is there some kind of adaptor that comes off of the back of the head unit that will allow me to plug in this aftermarket sat antenna?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Bump. Still need help with this if anyone has any ideas. The antenna that I bought and planned to relocate to the cowl does not plug in to the back of the radio. Additionally, there is not a spot to plug it in to under the padding on the passenger side roll bar. With the new roof rack, my reception is crap. Any ideas on an adapter or fix of some kind? Thanks!

The connection on the passenger side isnt under the roll bar padding, you have to take off the plastic covering the b pillar, if I remember right I had to undo some of the screws for the soundbar also. You follow the stock antenna cable down about 8-12 inches to a yellow connector(shown in the pic), that is the one that fits most after markets. Hope this helps.

I wish I knew this a few months ago. The stock antenna has horrible reception where I live now. To solve this I went out and bought one of those tacky stick-to-the-windshield units. All I needed was the antenna?!1!
