Spare del how to get brake and license plate liight
I just put on a spare tire delete and want to relocate my license plate to the center of it. What did you use for the center brake light and license plate light? How did you wire the license plate light? Thanks!

I used Ace Engineering mount, came with the lights. I tapped in on the passenger tire for the plate light, dont remember which wire.

I used this, BackSide License Plate Mount with LED, and love it. The wiring is a little light but it worked fine. The instruction were good and I just watch a few videos on youtube also. You can see images in my album.

Was running the one that came free with my bumper tire carrier:

It is cheep, it is small and discreet, it is bright, and it passed Texas vehicle inspection at one of the pickiest places in town. I liked it a lot. My only complaint is the wiring they have you tie into one of the wires wrong, so instead of brakes you get blinkers, but it is easy to sort out with a simple test light.
Yesterday I upgraded to a Rigid Chase Light. Took some doing (I had to splice in a 6pin weather proof connection so that I can remove the light to change the tire, and build a custom bracket to get the light positioned correctly), but it seems to work great.
I also tied into the passenger side tail light, but I don't remember what wires for what.
Right now my phone won't let me upload photos, or I would show pics of both.
The one from quadratic it nice, and pretty easy to install, especially for the money. The Rigid is a considerably larger project, and is a bit pricy, but I like it a lot.
Happy Jeeping!

I ditched the whole 3rd brake light as I'm not required to have one in Texas. I used these little lights for my license plate mounted on my tramp stamp -

I used the factory license place light wiring, snipped by the harness on the driver's side, and extended it across the jeep and through the tailgate. You could easily tap that passenger side running light, but it seemed like 6 one way, half dozen the other. Obviously takes a bit more wire to do it how I did.

Thanks guys. I had one of those heavy duty spare holders but all the weight was still on the tailgate, it started squeaking and rattling so I did the delete. The metal around the top hinge was already starting to buckle after just 10,000 miles. No more rattles or squeaks.
