Default Speaker upgrade question

Just replaced the speakers in my 2015 Wrangler with the Alpine SPS-610C components (dash and sound bar). I simply removed the stock speakers and installed the Alpines. There were inline crossovers that came with the Alpines, but I did not use them as I assumed there was already a crossover somewhere in the stock system powering the stock components. Was I correct in installing in this fashion. Speakers sound fine, but wanted confirmation. FYI, this is not the upgraded system offered by Jeep. My next step will be an amp and then a sub. Not interested in upgrading head unit at this time. Thanks for any advice.

If you are going to add amp I would suggest spending the money to upgrade head unit if you want it to sound right.

I'm sure you are right, and I may go that route. I am more concerned about the Alpine components I have installed and if I should have used the crossover that came with them.

I installed Focal's and I used the cross overs that came with them. But I have way more adjustability with my pioneer unit than I did with factory if we lived close I would let you hear the sound quality of mine its awesome.

You wouldn't have any pictures of how and where you mounted the crossovers would you? I plan on installing my Focal's soon.

I have those same alpine speakers in my 2015. I installed the crossover. There is no crossover in the sound system. The 3 inch speakers in the dash and roll bar have a bass blocker soldered onto the speaker.

You should spent some more money on a good amp and I am sure you will be fine with the already installed head unit. For subwoofers, you might need to consider which ones you are looking for. Either 10 inch, 12 inch... what will works best for you.

I recommend you to check out speakers hunter which is updating regularly about different car audio problems and product recommendations.
