Default Speaker wire location????

I need to know if the rear speaker wires run down the side pillars or across the top side. I need to tap in for sub. Wanted to keep the taps in the pillars and not on top.

Are you talking about the sound bar? On the 4dr, speaker wire runs in the wire loom along the floorboard, by the passenger front seat. It then splits at the B-pillar. Wiring for the sound bar travels up the B-pillar to the unit above the rear passenger door. I don't have a sub, but i presume that the sub wiring then continues with the rest of the loom under the rear passenger door, up the wheel well, and back in to the cargo area to where the sub is located.

Thanks I’ll check. I was told to tap into the wires above the sound at and run them down the pillars. I’d rather tap into them at the floor if possible

In order to remove the bottom molding, you need to yank the top B-pillar molding out of place. You can just let it dangle there so that you don't have to jack around with the seat belt. You'll need to remove the front plastic molding as well (just a couple christmas tree pins along the door and a yank from away from the side wall under the dash). That should then allow you to pull a couple more christmas tree pins and remove the lower B-pillar molding, giving you full access to the wiring. you will be able to tell the wires traveling all the way up the B-pillar. Along with the speaker wires, the wiring for the dome light are in that loom, so you just need to determine which is which.

I found the wires. Kinda weird they have 4 sets running to the bar. I have the color code for two sets. I wonder if they ran two sets for the tweeters also. I can’t find and codes for the other colors.

Are you certain the others aren't just wiring for the dome light? I've never inspected that loom specifically. In the rear though it's 3 wires running up to the rear dome light. Since you can activate the front dome in right or left fashion, I'd expect to have more wires running to that.

I tapped into one wire and the sub worked. Only problem is when you fade to the front you loose your input to the sub. I like to take some power away from the sound bar..... It gives me a headache when it overpowers the front. Other than that, I highly recommend a small powered sub. What a huge difference.

What colors were the wires? I’m trying to figure out which are the speaker wires in my 2018 JKU for an amp install.
