Default which speakers to replace the Infinity ones?

I searched and found conflicting information on the forums. Some say the speakers are 2 Ohms some say 4. So the question is:
Which are the dest speakers for replacing the Infinity sound system? They need to be <or = to 100 a pair. The fronts are going to be components and the rears 2 or 3 way. I need them to be a direct replacement. I have a Pioneer HU, but the speakers are powered through the stock amp. Later on I will replace the 8" sub with a better one and add a dedicated amp to run that one, but I would prefer to not run another amp. Thanks

If your using the stock infinity amp, I wouldn't change the speakers as they are designed specifically for that system and you won't likely find better sounding ones as long as your using the stock amp. If after changing the factory head unit the sound qaulity went down, that is because the head unit is specifically tuned for that system as well. I would plan on upgrading the speakers and bypassing the infinity amp and build from there. For now you can run new speakers just off the new pioneer head with better results. Then as you go you can get yourself a decent 4 channel amp to power front speakers and a sub.

I might just bite the bullet and install a 5 ch amp to power all speakers. Otherwise, I am looking at the kicker direct replacement speakers

The kickers were a great upgrade to my stock (non-infinity) system. I am pleased. I got them online cheaper than a lot of the major suppliers too.

I replaced the two fronts and soundbar speakers. The fronts make the biggest upgrade.

My Kicker 77kick10's are in the mail!

Check for them on Amazon. Search the forum for 77kick10.

I have replaced my stock Infinity speakers with Alpine Type-R in the soundbar and Alpine Type-S components in the front. I also replaced the stock base HU with a Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD. The sound is like Night and day, it sounds great. I want to change the front speakers with the Type-R components, I didn't have the cash at the time to do them or I would have.

I also changed my speakers with Polk's in the sound bar and components in the dash. (infinity system). Sounds ten times better. It may say infinity on the speakers but it should say crap.

I am torn between the Kicker upgrade (plug-n-play) or Infinity reference (they are the correct 2 Ohms). The only thing I would want with the Kicker upgrade is the tweeters. Anyone do the Kicker upgrade and change tweeters?
