strange starter failure
2012 Sahara JKU auto. 120,000kms
The other night my starter failed. My friend came to my rescue and determined it was indeed the starter. Having quite a bit of electrical knowledge he took apart my starter to discover that the drive fork had popped out of place. He just popped it back in, reinstalled my starter and I was good to go. He said that was a very strange type of failure and wondered how it might happen. Anyone else have this same issue? And if yes, does anyone know if any of the aftermarket manufacturers would have addressed this issue?
Up here in Canada starters for a 2012 are still dealer only. I contacted Mean Green because they listed a JK starter but when I asked about it they said they still don't have them (perhaps he meant for a 2012?) and it'll be several weeks yet.
Thanks for your input
