sub help
I am attempting to hook a RE-Q volume sensing bass restoration device(now thats a mouth full) www.reqsound.com to my factory 7 speaker mygig. I was advised by several shop that this was the correct way to go if i wanted to add an amp to power a new sub in the stock inclosure. The problem i am having is that the device accepts left/right front inputs and sub inputs it then converts to rca outs, for a front amp and a sub amp and i am not wanting to use the front inputs i want to leave my factory amp inplace
powering the rest of the speakers. There are sub inputs(one set of 2 wires) but the factory sub has 4 wires so my question is.... can i just tap into 2 of the factory sub wires and if i can does anyone know what 2? and what is pos and what is neg? Also this device is designed to provide rca outs after the factory amp, It is designed to prevent bass rolloff as the volume is increased and back off the bass as the volume is lowered.

No, you'll want to tap into the fronts. When you tap into the fronts you don't lose the fronts....it essentially 'listens' to the signal and converts it to RCA where your amp reamplifies it and sends to your sub.
You can tap into one of the 2 pairs for the sub if you want, but I'd suggest the front over that.
The signal you'll receive is amplified by the stock HU, so it should adjust with your volume. It is not a pre-out of any sort.
Does that help?
