Default sub woofer help! please

I just blew up my 10" 8ohm dual voice coil rockford fosgate sub. The foam finally pulled away from the basket. Not bad for 8yrs use! It was in a sealed box. I am running a cheap 300w bridged amp.

My question is.....I had a 4 ohm 10" rockford sitting on my bench. I tried to hook it up and nothing was working? Amp works good so I do not know what is going on. Can anyone help me out??

Thanks!

Changing the impedance changes the amount of resistance flow between the sub and the amp- with that said, the amp may power it for a little while and then slowly ruin itself OR it wont work at all due to seeing a current change. Sorry, thats all I got- Good Luck!
