Default Subwoofer question; 2016 Unlimited

Dumb question for a newbie here (and I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere)

Question; does it matter, if the subwoofer, which I mounted in the floor on the 2016, is covered? I ordered the rear cargo cover from 'Rugged Ridge', and there is no hole/allowance, for the floor mounted subwoofer.

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

Well, I guess by the lack of responses, it may be a dumb question after all?

As far as effecting the sound, it wont effect a sub as much as it would a midrange or tweeter.
See how it sounds, it may deaden some of the higher bass tones.
Thanks I didn't mean for that last post to sound sarcastic to anyone, I was just looking for advice.

The woofer comes from the factory mounted in the cargo area, which I'm sure is just fine. I installed the Rugged Ridge cover, which is secure, just to prevent fur from my dog getting into the speaker area.

I appreciate the advice
