I will be getting the tuffy security deck myself for xmas. I am going to then take out the front of it and build a box and amp rack there. I figured that would be secure if done right. HMMMM only way if everything is open is maybe point the subs down but leave attachment points that you cant get to easy into the floor. You cant make it fool proof but can slow them down.

thinking about this also. Im getting ready to throw in a box and a jl audio w7 8" sub with jl audio 900/5 Amp. Im thinking putting a layer of dynamat in the rear where my box will lay (i have rhino lined tub) Then drill our four holes big enough for some lag bolts or something heavy duty.

Now these bults will be rounded on the bottom (underside of jeep) and have some nuts inside the box securing it down. I will locktite the nuts. Silicone it and blah blah blah.....now this will almost gaurantee that my box dosent get stolen so when i put the amp in I will have it against the back seat so its hidden and then the sub i'm going to have facing up but have a special grill welded so it will make it that much harder. Now i know its not bullet proof but i at least want a thieve to look at it and go damn im not even going to try this!!!!!!

Do you really need that much bass in your Jeep? I would think you would get better sound from 2 8" drivers. Which would allow you to make something more stealth and out of sight.

If you go with the 2 12" drivers, I think you are always going to run the risk of being easy to steal. The joy of owning a Jeep.

X2 -- a 2 door havng 2 12" subs is a bit overkill. When I first got my 2 door I wanted to put in 2 12's that I had in my suburban, but I know a bunch of car audio installers and their opinions were the same -- there's simply not enough room for them to fit in an enclosure and have enough room in it to displace the air it needs to get decent sound. Unless you don't need your backseat, I think 2 8's, a single 10, or even a single 12 would work a bit better, and definitely sound better.

My plan is to build a down firing box, ported toward the front, with my amp and crossover underneath and out of sight. I plan to mount it with stainless chassis bolts. I had a similarly designed box in my jeep before, and someone crawled in there and tried to jack it. They tripped my alarm before they figured it out and that one wasn't even bolted down!

Mine is not complete yet, but I have a down firing enclosure with 2 fosgate P2 10"subs. I have my power amp mounted between them . From the back it looks like a solid box that goes all the way to the floor and my cutouts on on the side and front (so the amp doesn't overheat). Mine are plenty loud and it was just what the stock infinity was missing (besides some clairty in the speakers).

The tuffy security box sounds like a good idea. Just don't forget to use sound deadening material (Hush mat, Dynomat, etc.) otherwise you will have some crazy rattling in your cab.

In my commando I made steel bars that went around my box and bolted from underneath.
Subs never got stolen again after that.
