Suggestions on lighting up the interior of a 5 ton
Hi guys,
A bit off topic from the usual lighting questions. I have a friend of mine who runs a mobile tire shop in sprinters. They are currently outfitting a 5 ton to do the same. They were leaning to using 40" LED light bar off ebay, identical to the look of the Rigid Industries at a fraction of the cost. Considering the seller was advertising the item from everything off road to a simple work light, I am sure it would come with a fraction of the performance as well.
I figured the forum might have some good suggestions on good bright lighting they could use. The idea is to use a 12v system as they have a couple 3k volt syn wave inverters in it already running the machines and would rather keep this off that circuit.
My impression was that a single LED light bar would be a bad idea. You have way too much BRIGHT light coming from one place blinding the guy working on a machine and it is also coming from one source so it would create lots of shadows. My idea was to have 2 rows of 4 lights, something like the example below. A dome light I guess it's called?

Please note that its an example of just a dome light. He doesn't want something that huge hanging from the ceiling all over the place.
Any suggestions?
