Default Swapping full doors for half doors help

Hello all. I'm looking for some help. I'm probably going to be swapping my full doors (electric) for a guys half doors (manual obviously). I wanted to keep the keyless entry (using the stock key fob) for the half doors when I get them. Does anyone have any insight for this? I've seen more threads for the other way around but not much, if any, for my scenario. I figured I could probably swap out the locking mechanisms but what about the connections, and compatibility with the CANBUS? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I did this for my 2012 JKU and all you need to get is the the latch and wiring harness for each door! I tried to get the parts from eBay but they sent the wrong part twice! I went to the dealer and with my VIN they were able to get me the part numbers I needed for each door! Easy to take off and replace!!!

I agree. Had half doors on a YJ. The only thing the locks will stop is little kids from getting in your jeep when it is parked in front of your house. Anyone who wants to get in will be in in less that 20 seconds and cause damage.

Rather than buying parts for the lock, I suggest investing in a few things.

1) stereo with detachable faceplate
2) a locking storage box that is bolted to the floor behind the rear seat, so you can secure your gear

I had good luck with this approach when paired with garaging at night

I live in sunny Southern California so my top and plastic windows are off the majority of the year! The purpose of the harness and latch is so that the alarm goes off if someone tries to open the doors! If they try and go over the door then the motion sensor in the cab makes the alarm go off! I also have an Aries hard cover for the trunk area so that I can leave valuables hidden and locked!!! To each their own!!! I love my half doors and the fact that they have power locks and the front doors power mirrors!!! OIIIIIIIO

I just used some cheap door lock actuators off amazon 25 bucks for all 4. Then ordered the full door harness and used the wiring that was needed. The main reason for keeping the Power locks in the half doors for me wasn't about security. It was more for convenience and unlocking the rear doors for the kiddos.
