Default Swaybar Wire

Hi Guys
I was told that you can move some wiring around so that your swaybar would stay on past 18 mph. As per factory as soon as I get above this speed the swaybar light starts blinking and the book says it is in transition.. ANy Help?

I guess great minds think alike! I was just searching for the same thing! I did find a post from Off Road EVO that said: "We have a product to fix your SMART bar blues." I went to their website and "nadda."

So, x2 on any help.

I've yet to hear that since that information is passed along via bus system..simple wire mod would not cure that. (in my head)

I don't have electric discos but soon will be going to jks quickers.

There has to be a reason in engages at 18 mph right? So my question is this... Is it unsafe to run over 18 mph disconnected? When I go to the jks I know there are times on the trail I'll be going over 18 mph. Would I be in danger of damaging anything?

You won't hurt anything going over 18mph with you JKS disconnected. It's just increased body roll and instability. Just no reason i can think of needing a e-disconnect sway bar disconnected at higher speeds.

YES! it can be dangerous. I had to drive disco'd out for ~80 miles (lost retaining pins). If you have to make any kind of sharp turn the counter steer will be dramatic and sluggish. With my 4" lift it felt like I was going to compress all the way to the ground going 30mph around a round-about. Any kind of emergency maneuver will be hindered without your links engaged. I would say it's "safe" up to 30mph, anything over and it's risky.

You'll be fine running with no sway bar connected if your smart about it. My range rover had no sway bars, since they didnt install any till after '89, and mine was an '89, and lifted 2 1/2" on OME springs.
