Default Syncing an iPhone 4

OK, I have searched and searched and even asked the dealer, and I am stumped!

My iPhone will sync for blue tooth use, but drops within 5 seconds. What is the trick to get my iPhone working with my uconnect?

It has to be the uconnect. My Iphone 4S has no problems with the bluetooth either with phone calls or playing music through BT.
I'd take it back to the dealer.

Have you upgraded your software for your head unit? What head unit do you have?

2010 Rubicon with the 730 navigation unit. I have not updated the software that I know of. We have 2 droids sync'd with no issues.

I have the RER nav unit in my 2008 rubicon and I know the latest update was supposed to fix some iPhone issues. Check your system info on your head unit and see what software version you have, latest one is 2.402 I believe. If you want you can pm me your address and I can ship you an update disc, may help.

if you have multiple phones synched, check the priority on the iPhone in the Uconnect and try changing it to priority 1. Also do you have any other bluetooth devices the phone is synched with near by that it might try and connect to instead of the car?

Obviously another thing you can try is deleting the phone and redo the pairing and see if that works.

I try the obvios once a month.... But I have moved the phone from priority 1 to 4 and it doesn't matter which order the phones are in. No other blue tooth devices for any phone.

I still have to check the radios s/w build to make sure it is up to date.

Not to belabor the point, but when you delete and re-pair the phone, have you tried deleting the entries on the phone side as well for the UConnect system? I would also suggest trying to whip everything from the UConnect (All phones), and whip the bluetooth on your iPhone and then Re-Pair. I've had UConnect in 5 different Chrysler/Jeep vehicles for the last several years and it's always done strange things with multiple phones and the best way to fix it was to just clear it out and basically start from scratch.. Also just an FYI - a phone upgrade, where the phone has the same "Name" will throw the system for a loop.

EDIT: I should specify that i've seen strange things with my Uconnects and IPhone(s) over the past several years. My current iPhone 4S and 2010JK and 09 Aspen work fine now. But I've never had any problem with any other phone than iPhones.
