Default Tapping into dimmer for ARB switch?

So I started installing the ARB compressor and wanted to hook up my switches to the interior dimmer feature of the guages/center console since the ARB switches are wired for that capability.

Where is the best/easiest place? I've been into the center stack before wiring the Trail Guide and my switches will be in a Daystar panel at bottom of the center stack.

Thanks!

Default Anyone?

I thought this was pretty easy question, I guess I'll have to get out the test light!

I don't have an answer to your question because when I did mine I didn't want them lighting up at night. Good luck I'm sure someone will be able to help. Did you do lockers front and rear? I love mine.

I'm only going with the rear at this point, mostly due to money, but also because of the D30 that I hope to upgrade in the next 2 years. I found that when I had front/rear ARBs I rarely used the front anyway. I hope I don't regret my decision, but I don't think it will limit me too much for what I do.

If you only need a couple of milliamps to illuminate your switch, there is 12-14 pin connector in the center stack that provides 12 amps when the lights are turned on. There are quite a few connectors back there connecting to the stack. Use the 12-14 pin double stacked connector (2 rows of 6 or 7 pins) The black is gound, obviously, and the one for the lights that turn on when you turn on the parking lights is the second from the end. I cannot remember the color, yeah I now, that'd make things much easier I know but I forgot. What I can say is that is not in the same row of 6 or 7 as the black wire. It might be purple or pink I believe. It is on the opposite side of the black wire, 2nd from the end. Use a multimeter or test light to confirm. The wire is of very fine guage, maybe 20 or 22 so it will not carry much of a load but I used it to power a transmission oil temperature gage light. Works great.

That's the info I was looking for, that should be enough to get me started.
Unfortunately I had the center stack torn apart last night to hook up power to the switch and put everything back together not having enough time or knowledge to hook up the other wire for the light dimmer!

So my switches all work fine, but don't illuminate unless turned on...which is fine, except that it just bothers me knowing there is a wire just shoved back there that has a purpose!
