I have no idea why the issue surprised me, however it should be a wake up call to everyone with a newer vehicle.

It popped up as a video for me, downloading video/audio while running.
The issue appears to be similar to any other programmable device: hacking. Apparently there is are reports of systematic approaches to disable vehicles by sleeper viruses, via numerous modes of data transfer. Try to open the link on another computer with high-speed capabilities. It is an interesting presentation.
