Default Tried to install dual-din headunit:

OK, so I tried to install my Alpine dual-din head unit last night, and ran into a bit of a problem. It doesn't fit. There is a plastic cowl that the headunit keeps hitting when I try to place it in. Is it safe to cut it? Do I need that plastic for anything else?

Are there any other options?

Thanks in advance.

I "trimmed" quite a bit out of mine when I put in my Pioneer AVIC. I don't like to say "cut" but "trimmed" sounds nicer. I "trimmed" a lot out, a lot! But it fit just fine. I figure I did the next owner a huge favor. You're welcome if you're reading this!!!
