Uconnect and Ipod cable
Hey everyone..... I installed uconnect module and still need the dealership to do the starscan . My question is .... Does anyone have the ipod cable and is it working? I'm not sure if mine is not because the Dealership hasn't done the starscan yet, the odd thing is when I plug my Ipod in it shows the checked signal on the screen but after I try to push the Aux button I get the signal that nothing is connected, would the Ipod be charging if it was a bad Aux in the back of the radio where it is connected or is it fine and it just needs to be starscanned at the dealership in order for the module to work. My Ipod cable is plugged into the module which is plugged into my radio along with the bigger module plug. I have a single disc radio with the aux res printed at the headphone jack (or auxiliary jack ) and my Rubi is a july 07 build date . By the way the directions from Richc were very detailed and took no more than 30 minutes to install even tho I to have gorilla hands I used saharablacks comment about using a stick to snake the mic through the console and it worked like a charm. Thanks Guys!

The iPod seems to charge regardless, as long as the Uconnect box is in proper working order. Until the Starscan update is done, you won't be able to use it though, because the Jeep's computer doesn't recognize the Uconnect module.
So, hopefully you're all set up and once the Starscan is done you'll be listening to the iPod and controling it through the head unit.
The annoying thing of course is dealing with the dealers, but hopefully you'll eventually find one that is willing to give it a shot and do it right. The only real way to tell if the rear Aux is working properly is after the Starscan update. If your Uconnect works to pair the phone, make calls etc, but you get the "Aux Not Connected" or whatever the message is, then you hit the lottery and got one of the older head units.
I don't think the 2008s have had this problem, and while I had it on a July 07 build, it seems to be a lottery for the 07s, and I was unlucky, whereas I believe most of them worked.
Keep us posted.

which Ipod cable are you talking about? Is there an option for an ipod cable for the stock radios? If so, which radio do you have?
I've got my ipod connected, but using the harmon kardon Drive + play. I've also rewired my radio to move the aux input to the back (writeup half done, will be posted early this week)

I purchased an Ipod cable to work w/uconnect module and I now need to get the radio and module set up at the dealership... they do whats called a process called starscan which enables the module to work allowing hands free calling w/bluetooth phone and voice activation of the radio that is in the jeep. The Ipod cable is to allow integration with radio and to be able to charge.
The ipod part does not need to be flashed with the starscan. Only the uconnect part. If your getting the no aux connected message you have one of the early radios that does not support the rear Aux in. You can try and get the dealer to replace it or buy one that someone took out of an 08 year.
Dsy are u sure because the ipod is charging when it is hooked up and shows the check signal on the ipod it just does not work on the radio screen....if the aux back were not working I don't think that the ipod would be charging.

The only reason I say this is because the the ipod cable is connected to the uconnect and there are 2 plugs from the uconnect that plug into the back of the radio one of which is the aux and if there was no power then when I plug in the Ipod I should not see anything...I think! I could be wrong all I know is it was charging it and if it still does not work after starscan I will just have them switch out to a newer radio.

Edit: I was going on info I saw posted on another fourm about the ipod working working before the module is flashed. Hope that info was wrong.

The Ipod will not work until after the Uconnect is enabled at the dealership. It will charge, but won't play.
I just installed the Uconnect & Ipod a week ago in mine. Had the same thing. Charging without playing prior to the dealer visit.
There is an issue with early radios not working with the Ipod cable, but you wouldn't know that until the Uconnect module is working.
