Default Viair 380C

So, my neighbor (lowrider guy) was cleaning his garage and I noticed this compressor and knew right away it was a viair. I asked him if it was for sale and he said make me an offer. I know the compressor alone is in the $180 range.
Does anyone know what test of this is worth?

the tank has 2 solinoid(spelling?) valves and one pressure switch to turn the compressor off at a certain pressure.

I was thinking of offering him $100 for everything.

What do you guys think?

It is a great deal if it's working fine. Did you test it?

I haven't tested it yet. I'll give it shot tomorrow. Are these compressors pretty capable of airing tires and possibly running air tools?

On board air isn't something I was expecting to get into so soon. I'm kinda excited about it! Haha.

Well, the compressor works like a champ and is freaking quiet!

I saw some wiring kits on the interweb with a switch and a somewhat unsightly gauge and pod. I would like a switch inside the jeep (easy enough) but rather have the gauge under the hood with the compressor.

Has anyone done this?

If so, how does it work?

I would hook the gauge to the tank. That's where you want to control the pressure. And that's where the solenoid that turns the compressor on and off is installed, correct? It would also work connected directly to the compressor's output, but it will not be so precise.

Nonetheless, it should be very easy to pull a hose from the tank anywhere in the Jeep where you want to install the pressure gauge.

The pressure switch is in the tank. I was thinking of mounting the under my jeep though so I figure I can put the gauge close the compressor.

After my last post I figured out how to search the forum from my phone so I searched on board air and found a post from a guy who mounted his air gauge right above the driver side speaker below the a/c vent. I may try this setup.

Thanks for your input!
