It does get toasty in there when it's running. Melted the cheapo Red Rubber Airhose I get from Lowes so I had to reroute it down to the tank. I'm thinking it can't be any hotter than how hot it gets under the hood of a JK!

And I would see if you could make something, so that the air hose could attach outside the storage compartment. Reason being it would suck to have to move gear out of the way to access the hose.

I wonder if a small fan could be installed to help with cooling?

Until it trips the Thermal overload Protector I'm not gonna worry about it.

I was more concerned about the wires and other stuff inside the tail light area. Because I'm not to sure if that stuff is designed for that much heat, unlike all the stuff installed in the engine bay area?

Ideally you will want to mount the compressor right side up, but if mounted on it's side it should be Ok. Completely upside down is not ideal.

You should be Ok, it is a very stout compressor.

How did you run your electrical? Also, what size wire(s) did you use to the battery?

I used the wire included in the kit .. ran power all the way to battery .. brought it up through existing grommet. It isn't pretty ... somebody I'll put some wire wrap on it.

I've had this installed for a while now. Works great. No heat issue. I updated my install and ran the intake tube up through the same grommet with filter sitting on top in cab so it brings in cool air when compressor is running.

I am also using the tank for some air horns I installed.
